11/4 Happy election day.

Image somewhat related.
I hope everyone goes and votes today if you haven't already.
I also hope that whoever wins reduces the power of the executive branch of government to what it should be, but I find that unlikely. Also, I just want this crap to be over.
Sit tight, keep quiet, 'till the next time. The next time being one thousand eight hundred and twenty-five days away. The usual anti-inspiration provided by Chumbawamba. But it's funny, I don't feel as hopelessly cynical about the whole thing as I used to. Don't worry, the feeling will pass.

There's a kickass Goldwater quote that I can't seem to turn up. Basically he talks about a time when the American people will demand that their President give back the power they shouldn't have.
We're a long way from it, I think. Even though Bush seemed to try like hell to get there. As much as I'd want it to happen, it means we'd have to hit that absolute point where people can't take it anymore, and well... That'll be a pretty scary time.
We'll see what happens to the GOP. I hope they return the party returns to its roots. Starting to hear different portions of the party claim that the problem is McCain wasn't enough of whatever particular agenda that they have. And so it begins..

Depressing thought, but you're probably right. Then again, something got to the point where we elected a young black man to the presidency.
