The reason Joshua Bell has gotten any attention at all is because many years ago his [photo] won him a spot in People Magazine, which today would only land him in Dr. Seuss's Grinch who Stole Christmas. I find that the people who are drawn to him and surround him are narcissistic asses as well.

No offense to you. Just letting you know that I have seen him play the violin and I have seen him just be a person, and he excels at neither. You are mistaken. #

First of all, thank you for clarifying that you mean no offense after pretty much calling me a narcissistic ass. That was kind.

Second, I sincerely hope you read the article before going on a tear, because it wasn't about Bell. I don't care who he is, or what he's like as a person. I don't think it affects what the article is about. Which is why I asked Fabienne about that, but she dropped off the internet.

What I cared about was the content of the article; the author's opinion of what violinist to use in his experiment is irrelevant in my mind. If he's that horrible of a person, yes, it may have altered the outcome. Somewhat. But the point is the same here.

And besides that... I am neither drawn to Joshua Bell nor indulging him mistakenly. I am not responsible for his being a dick. I just linked to an article. That another guy who I've met once also linked to. That was in a major paper. Am I just an easier target? I really wish the ire was directed elsewhere. I'm not one of "those" bloggers who tries to raise everyone's neck hair with their barbed opinions. I just linked to a story about a violin in the subway.

Next time just watch for these kinds of things in the del.ici.ous sidebar.

I usually don't rant like this and I apologize for taking it out on you.
It's just that he has been *so* mean.
First he cheated on his wife with the babysitter; then he got his teenage violin student pregnant and just walked away. He then he got my good friend Allison Bowie pregnant
and when she told him he punched her in what he thought was her vagina, tore off her wig,
and exposed the fact that she is a hermaphrodite to the entire Safeway.
You would think the guy would have had enough. Nope.
He showed up at Allison's 45th birthday party, to which she invited her entire company, and
when they opened the presents, he took off all his clothes and presented 'himself'.
Allison's friend Erika also dated him. So did her friends Kristen, Megan, Rebekah, Greg,
and Julia. All at the same time. She never found out until it was much too late.
I know nobody's perfect. I try to see the good in people because we all screw up sometimes.
I went to see Midori and he and his girlfriend fought through her ENTIRE performance.
The symphony would not give me my money back because " Mr. Bell is a 'young artist' who has
been awarded the Fishbein prize" whatever the hell that means.
At intermission I went to get a drink and witnessed him asking a complete stranger to
"come over and f*** like rabbits".
My hairstylist gives him 300$ highlights every 3 weeks. I don't know about you, but I
just don't like that.
You might think that I see too much of the guy. So do I.
I have moved three times and I guess I am just un-friggin-lucky.
