03-19 Canvas - ((Total Units -1) x Gutter) ÷ Total Units = Unit

Finally writing a post-SXSW post. Here's the wrap:
  • Panels. Ho-hum in large part, but the ones that were good were really good. And the best seemed to have at least 50% British accents. Brendan Dawes and Jim Coudal brought great humor and insight to the "Making your short attention span work for you" panel. Khoi Vinh and Mark Boulton took a room full of designers back to school with "Grids are Good." (link to blog post with the actual deck.) And Peter-Paul Koch battled a lot of people who thought they knew more about Javascript than he does.
  • Parties. Well, those who know me know that I'm not much of a partier. Met a few interesting and cool people, hung out with our friend from MySpace, and drank free thanks to Rupert Murdoch, Facebook, and some girl who may have fancied Gavin.
  • Bowling. The most obnoxious team on the lanes? Maybe. 3rd place? Definitely.
  • Austin. What a cool town. Erika's friend Charlie showed us around, we went to see Deerhoof at Emo's, we ate great tex-mex, and generally I just enjoyed the crap out of being in Texas without all that ridiculous Houston traffic and humidity.
